While working for the Nature Conservancy on Block Island I developed and marketed “Queerness in Nature”. Each Thursday at 10:00 AM I would lead a hike on one of the island’s many greenway trails and give a lectures about homosexuality and gender diversity in animals. The program’s mission was to cast away the notion that it is “unnatural to be queer”.
